AMRS Welcomes BOOST Stadium SUPER Trucks to Round 5 Program

The entertainment factor for AMRS (Australian Motor Racing Series) just received a massive BOOST, the series today announcing the BOOST MOBILE Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by SPEED ENERGY will join the program for Round 5 at Sydney Motorsport Park, 26-28 October.

SST first appeared on Australian shores at the 2015 Adelaide 500; since then, the V8-powered SST trucks have thrilled fans across the country with their UFC-style action-packed racing, which includes jumps and reverse-grid formats.

The Stadium SUPER Trucks Championship consists of 10 events throughout America and Australia, and attracts drivers from both countries. The current points leader after Round 7 is Matt Brabham, grandson of Formula 1 legend Sir Jack, while another high-profile Aussie competitor is 2017 SST Champion and 2014 Bathurst 1000 winner Paul “The Dude” Morris.

Other prominent names in the series include X games athletes and professional off-road racers Gavin Harlien, Cole Potts, Blade Hildebrand, Bill Hynes, former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk and former Indycar/NASCAR driver Robby Gordon, who owns the series.

AMRS manager Wayne Williams said securing the Stadium SUPER Trucks is a massive coup for the series.

“Everywhere they go, the Stadium SUPER Trucks pull a massive crowd, and we can’t wait to have them at Sydney Motorsport Park,” Williams said.

“They will put on a spectacular show for everyone watching, whether they’re at the track or viewing the live stream.

“Over the last couple of weeks, it’s no secret that Stadium SUPER Trucks has had to make some last-minute changes to their 2018 schedule, so we’re thrilled to have offered SST a place to compete and add them to our event program.”

BOOST MOBILE Stadium SUPER Trucks CEO Robby Gordon thanked the AMRS for the opportunity to compete on the program.

“We are super excited to be able to give Australia what they want and that is for us to race,” Gordon said.

“I want to thank Chris, Wayne and the team for asking us to come on board as part of the program, all of our sponsors and drivers are excited and looking forward to doing battle at the exciting Sydney Motorsport Park track.”

BOOST MOBILE CEO Peter Adderton says the brand is pleased to continue to be represented at a national level.

“As a brand, we always put the needs and wants of our customers first,” Adderton said.

“We know how much Australian Fans want to see the SST race, and we recognise the incredible entertainment they bring to the fans, so to once again showcase this incredible sport in Sydney is something we are 100% behind.”

The Stadium Super Trucks race format will consist of one practice session, two shootout style qualifiers and two 25-minute races throughout the weekend.

Tickets for the AMRS round will be available at the gate on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday’s action will be live streamed via Blend Line TV and the AMRS Facebook page; the SST races will also be shown on Facebook Live and on CBS Sports in the USA.
